Did you know there are two different wines in Italy both named Montepulciano? There is Montepulciano made from the Montepulciano grape which is a specialty in the region of Abruzzo and then there is Vino Nobile di Montepulciano which is made from the Sangiovese grape in the Tuscany region. Not confusing at all right?? This bottle from @torcianowinery is an excellent example of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Red and black cherries, boysenberries, red plum, dried herbs and a hint of oak. This wine is a part of Tenuta Torciano's Goldvine collection and was a delicious pairing with some pasta that I made last weekend. Have you tried Vino Nobile di Montepulciano before?? • • • • #hayleyscellar #vino #winestagram #winespectator #winelover #winegeek #montepulciano #instawine #foodandwine #wineblogger #winedestinations #italianwine #tuscanyitaly #wineinfluencer #wset #wine #winewinewine #youcansipwithus #italytravel

The story of @martinmuthenthaler never gets old and serves as a reminder that it’s never too late to completely change direction. Martin was a truck driver at Domaine Wachau since 1989. He wanted nothing else out of life. But when corporate restructured and laid him off in ‘06 he was forced to improvise. Knowing nothing about making wine, he knocked on doors in his hometown Mühldorf, population 1381, in hopes that his neighbors might advise him as to how to tend his parents 5 acres of grapevines. Hence, why his cellar is two single car garages. . He launched a tavern to showcase his wines in the early years while a chance meeting with Peter Mahlberg opened doors he never knew were there. Today, Martin is 1 of 3 organic producers in the Wachau and among the very finest Riesling and Grüner Veltliner producers in the world. It was a pleasure creating this bottling with him exactly 1 year ago and we look forward to another visit with the indispensable @volkerwineco next month… #viticolewineclub
